Using Entity Communications Mobile Data – APN Settings
If you're using Entity Communications for your mobile settings, you may need to set some specific settings depending on how you're set up.
If you enjoy a Spark-based mobile connection, you don't need to do anything to get internet access using your mobile. This is also the case for international roaming (see International roaming note below regarding additional charges for using this service). You will need to enable roaming.
If, on the other hand, you enjoy a 2degrees-based mobile connection, you will need to set your SIM to use the correct Access Point Name (APN) depending on whether you are using your mobile exclusively in New Zealand or if you travel overseas semi-regularly (see International Roaming note below regarding additional charges for using this service).
If you are using your 2degrees connection exclusively in New Zealand, you can set up your device using the following settings (see the pages for iPhone/iPad and Android devices if you need help with these settings):
- Mobile Data APN Settings
- Username: leave blank
- Password: leave blank
- APN: internet
- MMS APN settings
- Username: leave blank
- Password: leave blank
- APN: mms
- MMSC: http://mms.2degreesmobile.net.nz:48090
- MMS proxy: 118.148.1.118:8080
- MMS max message size: leave as default size
- MMS UA Prof URL: leave blank
If you are using your 2degrees connection overseas, you can set up your device using the following settings (see the pages for iPhone/iPad and Android devices if you need help with these settings). You will need to enable roaming:
- Mobile Data APN Settings
- Username: leave blank
- Password: leave blank
- APN: radiostar
Note on International Roaming:
If you enjoy a Spark-based mobile connection through Entity Communications, you do NOT need to notify us of the need to travel. We have arranged a 14-day, 2GB, 300mins & TXT roaming pack added to these connections by default. Your device will automatically activate international roaming and you will be charged on landing. The pack lives on the account til the next time you roam. The pack will renew 3 times within a billing period if you are roaming for longer than 14 days or use up any of the allowances.
If you enjoy a 2degrees mobile connection through Entity Communications, you WILL need to notify us of the need to travel. Once we have received your request, we will enable international roaming. Roaming rates are specific to each country.
By enabling roaming on a SIM, you accept all charges incurred by that SIM. Calling rates exclude all calls and TXT to premium and/or satellite numbers.
International roaming should work in the following countries. For an up-to-date list of coverage and calling/data rates, please contact us before leaving on your travels.
